2. How we use information
- Provide, secure, and maintain the Service, including authentication and account management.
- Generate and personalize research features such as signals, feed items, alerts, and theses.

- Send service messages (for example sign-in links, billing notices, and alert notifications you opt into).
- Monitor abuse, debug issues, improve reliability, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal data on bases including: performance of a contract (providing the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement), consent (where required for optional features such as marketing or push notifications), and legal obligation.
4. Service providers
We use trusted processors to operate the Service, including providers for hosting (for example Vercel), database and authentication (Supabase), payments (Stripe), email delivery, and analytics or logging. These providers may access personal data only to perform services for us and subject to contractual safeguards.
5. Cookies & similar technologies
We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and protect the Service. Essential cookies are required for authentication. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
6. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal requirements. You may request deletion of your account subject to limits required for billing records, security logs, or law.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encrypted transport, access controls, and row-level security in our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@depth4.com. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority where applicable.
9. International transfers
We and our processors may store or process data in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses for cross-border transfers.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acknowledgment of the updated policy.
